About us

First Christian Church of Mooreland is an "independent" church, in the sense that we have no denominational ties, but we put great value in the relationships we enjoy with the other churches in our area, and we work together for the common ministry God has given us. We received that ministry from God and we carry it out in the strength that God provides. So as you can see, we're actually a fairly dependent church.

We believe in a respect for others' interpretations of scripture within an evangelical theology, which is to say we believe in the centrality of the gospel and the need for everyone to have a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. We also believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God and should be read literally on the whole (though of course with consideration to genre--poetry, for example tends to be more metaphorical). See our statement of faith for more particulars.

We have a hundred-year-old church building and a five-year-old community ministry center. We strive to adapt to the needs of the community to demonstrate the love of Christ and share the life-giving message we have been entrusted with.

Our Vision
First Christian Church is committed to prepare our congregation for the challenge of today's world by building solid foundations of faith in Jesus Christ, strengthened through: Friendships within our Community in order to carry out the Great Commission.
